Refund and cancellation policy
Template note: This template is intended for service engagements. Replace every bracketed placeholder and align the policy with signed proposals, statements of work, payment terms, and applicable consumer laws before publishing.
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the general approach of [Legal business name] trading as LUCZE ("LUCZE," "we," "us," or "our") for paid services. The signed proposal, statement of work, or contract for a specific engagement may contain terms that take priority over this policy.
1. Service engagements
LUCZE provides strategy, design, technology, growth, SEO, and automation services that are planned and delivered around a defined scope. Because these services involve reserved time, preparation, and work created for a specific client, refunds are handled according to the applicable engagement documents and the rules below.
2. Deposits and scheduled payments
Any deposit, setup fee, milestone payment, or recurring fee will be described before work begins. Insert the applicable payment schedule here: [Payment schedule]. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, approved work and reserved capacity may not be refundable once the relevant work has started.
3. Client cancellation
You may request cancellation by contacting [contact email]. The effective date is the date we receive the request unless the engagement documents specify another date.
- For work that has not started, [describe whether and when an advance payment is refundable].
- For work already started, you may be charged for work completed, committed third-party costs, and any agreed cancellation or notice fee.
- For recurring services, cancellation takes effect after [notice period] unless the signed agreement states otherwise.
4. LUCZE cancellation
We may pause or cancel an engagement if invoices remain unpaid, required information or approvals are not provided, the work becomes unlawful or unsafe, or another material breach is not corrected after notice. We will explain the status of work completed and any amounts due where reasonably possible.
5. Rescheduling and pauses
If a project needs to move, contact us as early as possible. We will try to reschedule where capacity allows. Add the applicable pause window, reactivation fee, or expiry terms here: [Rescheduling and pause terms].
6. Defects and revisions
A correction to work that does not match the agreed scope is not treated as a refund request. Please notify us within [review period] with enough detail for us to assess the issue. Changes that add new requirements, direction, or scope may be quoted separately.
7. Approved refunds
Where a refund is approved, it will be sent to the original payment method unless the parties agree otherwise. Processing times may depend on the payment provider. Insert the expected timeframe here: [Refund processing timeframe].
8. Third-party costs
Fees paid to third-party platforms, hosting providers, stock libraries, contractors, advertising networks, or other suppliers may be non-refundable once committed. We will identify known pass-through costs before approval where practical.
9. Consumer rights
This policy does not limit any mandatory rights that apply to consumers under the laws of their location. If a mandatory right conflicts with this policy, the mandatory right controls to the extent required.
10. Contact
To request a cancellation, refund review, or clarification, contact [contact email] and include your name, project or invoice reference, and the reason for your request.
